Heavy Rains Lash South Kashmir, Alert on Key Highway Axis

SRINAGAR: Several areas of south Kashmir, including Shopian and Pahalgam, witnessed heavy rainfall on Monday evening, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, while moderate showers were reported from parts of central Kashmir.

According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, there is a likelihood of intense showers along the Qazigund-Banihal-Ramban axis during the next one to two hours. Officials said the activity is expected to reduce thereafter.

The department has urged commuters and residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious, particularly in hilly and landslide-prone zones.
