Health Minister Reviews Treatment of Nowgam Blast Victims

SRINAGAR: Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo on Saturday evening visited Ujala Cygnus Hospital in Nowgam to assess the condition of those injured in the accidental explosion at the local police station.

Itoo consulted doctors and medical staff to obtain a first-hand briefing on the treatment being administered. She instructed them to ensure the highest standard of care and to seek expert opinion from major government hospitals, including SKIMS and SMHS, should the need arise.

The Minister also met the injured and their families, gathering their feedback on the medical support being provided. She assured them of all necessary assistance from the government, describing the incident as deeply tragic and distressing.
