Health Department Rejects Allegations of Fund Diversion in GMC Handwara Project

SRINAGAR: The Health and Medical Education Department on Sunday dismissed allegations of diverting funds meant for Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, asserting that all expenditures are being incurred in line with Government of India guidelines with “complete financial discipline and transparency.”

The department said funds released for GMC Udhampur and GMC Handwara are credited into a single SNA (Single Nodal Agency) account but utilised strictly as per the central share released for each project.

It added that there has been no diversion of money and that spending is being carried out in a transparent manner under the prescribed guidelines. (JKNS)
