Habitual Offender Arrested in Sexual Assault Case

SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday said that they have taken prompt action in a heinous case of sexual assault on children, ensuring that the habitual offender is brought to justice.

The police said that it was reported that three minor children (names withheld) were subjected to repeated sexual assault by a criminal. Acting without delay, Police Station Beerwah registered FIR No. 134/2025 under sections 65(2) & 352(2) of BNS read with sections 5/6 of the POCSO Act.

The accused was arrested within hours of the report. The crime scene was immediately preserved and examined by the FSL team, which also secured crucial forensic evidence. Medical examinations of the victims were conducted promptly to strengthen the case. An investigation is being carried out on a top priority from every relevant angle to ensure foolproof prosecution.
