Gunfight breaks out in Kishtwar village

Srinagar, July 02: An encounter has started between terrorists and security forces in Chatroo area of Kisthwar district on Wednesday.

An official told GNS that a team of police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chatroo on a very specific input.

He said as the joint team approached towards the suspected area, the hiding terrorists fired upon the joint party, leading an encounter in the area.

Army’s White Knight Corps in a post on X said: “Op CHAS Based on specific #intelligence a joint search operation was underway in Kanzal Mandu, #Kishtwar. Contact has been established with the #terrorists and #operations are in progress”.
