Greenend Heroes FC beat Athwas India XI 2-1 in action-packed league opener

Srinagar, Jul 10: Greenend Heroes FC claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Athwas India XI in a gripping contest as the Khyber Cements Kashmir Super League 2025 kicked off in style at Srinagar’s TRC Turf Ground on Thursday.

As per the statement issued, the match was officially inaugurated by Tanvir Sadiq, MLA Zadibal, and Irfan Shahmiri, Chairman of Downtown Heroes FC and CHINAR International, in a vibrant opening ceremony that set the tone for the tournament.

Both teams displayed remarkable skill and intensity throughout the match. Hyder Yousuf was the standout performer for Greenend Heroes FC, scoring a brilliant brace to secure the win. Ateeb Dar pulled one back for Athwas India XI with a fine goal, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the result.

The post-match presentation ceremony honoured individual brilliance on the field.

As per the release, the Man of the Match & Game Changer of the Match award was given to Hyder Yousuf (Greenend Heroes FC), while the Golden Save Award was given to Umaid Hussain (Greenend Heroes FC).

The awards were presented in the presence of dignitaries, including Anisa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer, Waseem Khan from Khyber Cement, and Irfan Gujju from IA Multiventure.
