Grand plantation drive marks World Forest Day in Budgam

Srinagar, Mar 23: A grand plantation drive was organized at Kralapathri in the Hakhal belt of Doodhpathri by the Pir Panjal Forest Division Budgam under the Raithen Forest Range to celebrate world forest day and kick start of 3rd phase of 150 years of celebrations of vandemataram.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of SDM Khansahib, Jahangir Ahmad Giri, and was also attended by SDPO Khansahib, Sakib Gani, and Range Officer Raithen, Ghulam Rasool.

A large number of forest officials, administrative officers, and enthusiastic participation from school children of the district marked the even, reflecting a strong commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The active involvement of young students added vibrancy to the programme and highlighted the importance of nurturing environmental awareness among the younger generation.

Held under the banner of the Green J&K Drive, the plantation campaign aimed at enhancing green cover, combating climate change, and promoting ecological balance in the region. The dignitaries emphasized the need for collective responsibility in protecting forests and preserving natural resources for future generations.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge by all participants to continue contributing towards a greener and healthier environment.
