Govt Reconstitutes Panel on Hydro Project Rehabilitation Plans

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday ordered the reconstitution of the Standing Committee for examining the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan of Hydro Electric Power Projects (HEPs) and making recommendations for approval of the UT Government.

An official order issued by GAD-JK said the committee shall also be responsible for the implementation and sanctioning of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component of the 850 MW Ratle Hydro Electric Power Project in Kishtwar district.

The order stated that the decision is a partial modification of an earlier order dated June 11, 2025, and has been taken in the interest of ensuring effective oversight of R&R measures linked to hydro projects. (KNC)
