Anantnag, Jul 11: To enhance healthcare quality, the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, on Friday conducted its first-ever introductory meeting on the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
A statement of GMC Anantnag issued here said that the landmark session was held at MMABM Associated Hospital of GMC Anantnag and witnessed the participation of key stakeholders from the institution.
The meeting was attended by Heads of various departments, the Chief Accounts Officer, the Administrative Officer, the Medical Superintendent of MMABM Hospital, along with other officials and staff members of GMC Anantnag.
The primary aim of the session was to introduce the NQAS framework and deliberate upon its implementation at the hospital.
Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, GMC Anantnag, Rauf Hussain Rather, and a certified National Assessor for NQAS, delivered a comprehensive and motivational address.
He highlighted the significance of NQAS in a medical teaching institution like GMC Anantnag and elaborated on how adherence to quality standards can uplift the overall healthcare delivery system.
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent MMABM Associated Hospital and an internal assessor for NQAS, Dr Arshad Hassan Siddiqi, briefly explained the practical aspects of implementing NQAS at the facility.
Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof Dr Rukhsana Najeeb, extended her congratulations to the organising team for successfully initiating this important step.
