Ganderbal Police attach Rs 3.2 crore worth of properties belonging to terrorists operating from PoK

Srinagar, July 12: In a significant crackdown on terror operatives, Ganderbal Police on Saturday attached immovable properties worth ₹3.2 crore belonging to three terrorists currently operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 48/2009, registered under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Kheerbawani.

According to officials, the properties were attached following due legal procedure and on the directions of the Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge (Special Judge designated under the NIA Act).

The terrorists whose properties have been seized include:

  • Farooq Ahmad Rather, S/o Abdul Ahad Rather, R/o Kurag, Ganderbal

  • Noor Mohammad Parray, S/o Abdul Ahad Parray, R/o Hatbura, Ganderbal

  • Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, S/o Gh Mohammad Sofi, R/o Khurhama, Ganderbal

In total, 9 kanals and 1.5 marlas of land were identified and attached under the court order.

Police said the move is part of its sustained efforts to target the financial and logistical networks of terrorists, especially those attempting to coordinate or incite militant activity from across the border.
