Ganderbal Murder: Night Protest Erupts, Locals Demand Justice

SRINAGAR: A group of social activists and locals staged a nocturnal protest on late Sunday evening demanding justice for the minor girl who was brutally attacked and murdered in Sehpora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Holding candles and placards, the protesters gathered at clock tower Duderhama raising slogans against the heinous crime. The protestors condemned the incident as a “crime against humanity” and called for stringent punishment to the perpetrators.

“Such barbaric acts shake the conscience of society. The government must ensure fast-track investigation and exemplary punishment to the guilty,” said Bilal Wani.

“Earlier we used to listen these henious stories in crime films and now thay are common in our valley. We must bycott such perpetrators at all levels, Wani added.

Protestors have also urged the Omar Abdullah led administration to strengthen security measures for the safety of women and children across Jammu and Kashmir and solve this case on fast-track basis.
