SRINAGAR: A body was recovered from the River Chenab on Saturday after a truck met with a tragic accident near Digdool area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir officials said.

Officals said that the recovery operation was carried out with the assistance of Ramban Police, Civilian QRT Ramban, Indian Army, and QRT Ramsu.

The deceased is believed to be Hilal Ahmad Laharwal, a resident of Kondbal near Manasbal Park in Ganderbal district.

He was reportedly driving a truck bearing registration number JK13D-4430, which met with an accident near Digdool.

They said the truck rolled down into a deep gorge before plunging into the Chenab River and is believed to have completely submerged.
