Full Dress Rehearsals for Republic Day-2026 Conducted in Ganderbal, Handwara – Alfaaz – The Words

Ganderbal/Handwara: Ahead of the Republic Day-2026 on January 26, full dress rehearsals were held on Saturday at designated venues in Ganderbal and Handwara districts, demonstrating administrative preparedness and coordinated participation by civil, police and security agencies.

In Ganderbal, the rehearsal was organised at Madr-e-Meharbaan Stadium, Qamariya. The proceedings included the unfurling of the National Flag, inspection of the parade and a march-past by contingents drawn from police, central armed forces and allied units.

Students from various schools and youth groups also took part, presenting cultural items that added to the ceremonial programme. The event was witnessed by a sizeable public gathering.

In Handwara, the rehearsal took place at the District Police Lines, Kulangam. A formal parade was presented by contingents of security forces, NCC cadets and the police band. The programme also featured departmental tableaux highlighting ongoing development initiatives and public welfare schemes.

Addressing the gathering, the presiding officer underlined the constitutional significance of Republic Day and reviewed key developmental works undertaken in the sub-division.

Senior civil and police officials attended the rehearsals at both locations, which concluded smoothly.
