Fisherman’s Body Retrieved After Four-Day Search in Jhelum

SRINAGAR: The remains of a fisherman who disappeared four days ago were retrieved on Wednesday in the Jhelum river near the Tulbal Bypass Bridge in Sopore.

An official said that rescue crews successfully located and retrieved the body of Ali Mohammad Dar, who had been missing since he went fishing on Sunday evening.

For the past four days, a substantial search effort involving teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Police, and local fishermen had been ongoing to find him.

The body has been transported to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore to undergo medico-legal procedures. Police have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated a further investigation. (KNC)
