Fire Guts Darul-Uloom in North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: An Islamic seminary was gutted after a fire broke out in the Boniyar area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Reports say that a fire broke out in a room at Daruuloom this evening and soon engulfed the whole building.

As the news of the fire spread in the area, police and locals rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.

Locals said they managed to save the masjid and some houses that were in close vicinity to the Darul uloom. However, they couldn’t save the Darul uloom.

The locals further alleged that Darul uloom could have been saved if the vehicles from the Fire and Emergency Services Department had reached on time.(GNS)
