
Kupwara: An expectant woman from a remote peripheral village was on Friday rescued under extremely harsh conditions and rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara after being carried on a cart/stretcher due to heavy snowfall that had cut off road access.
Hospital officials said that upon arrival, the woman was taken up for an emergency Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS), which was successfully performed under the supervision of the Medical Superintendent, SDH Kupwara. The procedure was conducted by gynaecologist Dr Tahira along with her team.
From the paediatric side, immediate resuscitation of the newborn was carried out by Dr Javaid Bhat and Dr Audil Bhat, ensuring timely critical care.
The timely efforts of the medical teams, despite challenging weather conditions, was lauded by the District Administration Kupwara,.
