Srinagar, Aug 10: Senior BJP leader and DDC Member Srinagar, Er Aijaz Hussain, was felicitated by the Badal Hockey Club at Polo Ground, where he distributed free uniforms among young players and called for more standard-level playfields and dedicated government schemes to support active sports clubs in Jammu & Kashmir.
As per a statement issued, speaking at the event, Er Aijaz Hussain thanked the Badal Hockey Club for providing free training, coaching, and uniforms to students, calling it a commendable service to the youth of the Valley.
He emphasised that the government has introduced several initiatives to promote sports in Jammu & Kashmir but stressed the need for more standard-level playfields across the region. He further urged the government to come up with dedicated schemes to sponsor sports clubs that are actively engaging and nurturing children in different sports activities.
The event was attended by Vice President of the Cricket Association Srinagar, Gh Nabi Bhat, along with prominent Badal Hockey Club members including Gurpreet Singh (member), Adil Ashraf (General Secretary), and Sumi (Baramulla Unit Incharge). All expressed their gratitude to Er Aijaz Hussain for his unwavering support of youth empowerment and sports development in the region.
