Srinagar, Feb 15: On the auspicious eve of the sacred month of Ramadhan, the President of the Janta Dal United (JDU), GM Shaheen, has urged the government to take immediate and concrete measures to ensure uninterrupted and regulated power supply and to strictly monitor market activities so that the community does not suffer during this holy period.

Shaheen stated that Ramadhan is a month of spiritual reflection, devotion, and discipline, and it is the fundamental responsibility of the administration to provide basic civic amenities to the people without disruption. He emphasized that frequent power cuts, voltage fluctuations, and irregular electricity supply cause immense hardship to households, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours.

The JDU President further demanded that the concerned authorities activate special control rooms and monitoring mechanisms to ensure stable electricity supply throughout the month. He also called upon the Power Development Department to deploy emergency response teams to address faults promptly and prevent prolonged outages.

In addition, Shaheen strongly appealed for strict market regulation and price control measures to curb profiteering, hoarding, and black marketing of essential commodities.
