Elegant Strikers crush Sultan Warriors by 9 wickets in rain-hit clash

Srinagar, Jul 7: Elegant Strikers Srinagar cruised to a commanding 9-wicket victory over Sultan Warriors Sumerbugh in a rain-shortened league match of the ongoing Kashmir Cup 2025, held at TRC Ground, Srinagar, on Monday.

After winning the toss, Sultan Warriors elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 173/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Ishfaq Shah top-scored with a blistering 49 off 34 balls, well-supported by a quickfire 33 from Mani Sharma and a cameo of 24 off just 8 balls from Shahid Bashir. Waris Kachur was the standout bowler for Elegant Strikers, bagging 3 wickets for 48 runs.

However, just as the chase began, rain forced an early conclusion, with the result decided by the match officials. Elegant Strikers were declared winners by 10 wickets under revised conditions. Asif Khan (62 off 42 balls) and skipper Umar Nissar (43 not out off 39) made light work of the target, guiding their side to 129/1 in just 14.4 overs when play was halted.

Earlier, Lone Liyaqat was the only wicket to fall, dismissed for 11 by Sajad Ganaie.
