SRINAGAR: The ongoing New Criminal Laws Exhibition, organised by the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) at JK Police Public School Bemina, entered its second day on Friday with enthusiastic participation from the public.

The three-day event, inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on September 11, is aimed at raising awareness and understanding of the newly introduced criminal laws — the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.

Officials said the exhibition witnessed an overwhelming response on its opening day, drawing more than 4,000 students and members of civil society. On Day 2, an additional 1,500 visitors, including concerned citizens from different sections of society, attended the event.

The exhibition features interactive sessions and information displays designed to promote legal literacy, foster informed civic participation, and familiarise the public with recent reforms in the criminal justice system.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, with the organisers inviting the general public to attend. The Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) expressed gratitude to participants and stakeholders for their support in making the initiative a success.
