SRINAGAR: A fire broke out in the Main Bypass area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir early Sunday morning, damaging part of a three-storey residential house, officials said.

Fire and Emergency Services (FES) personnel from Kupwara headquarters reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and brought the blaze under control.

Officials said the prompt response by firefighting teams prevented the fire from spreading to nearby residential buildings. No injuries were reported.

Cooling operations were carried out to prevent re-ignition, while the cause of the fire remains unknown. Officials said an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
