Vehicle Research and Development Organization, functioning under the Defence Research and Development Organisation, has issued a walk-in interview notification for Junior Research Fellow posts. The recruitment is for research work related to defence mobility systems and vehicle technologies.

Eligibility Criteria of DRDO VRDE JRF Vacancies

Mechanical Engineering	BE/BTech in first division with valid GATE score or ME/MTech in first division at graduate and post graduate level	Maximum 28 years

Only GATE scores of the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 are acceptable. Age relaxation of five years is applicable for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates.

Stipend and Tenure

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000 along with House Rent Allowance as applicable. The initial tenure is two years and may be extended for a further two years based on performance and review committee assessment.

Place of Fellowship

The place of research fellowship will be VRDE, Vahannagar Post, Ahilyanagar – 414006, Maharashtra.

Application Procedure

The application form can be downloaded from the DRDO website. Eligible candidates willing to attend the walk-in interview must send their willingness by email to kapilpuraswani.vrde@gov.in on or before 22 February 2026. The subject of the email must mention Application for the post of Junior Research Fellowship followed by the subject.

Candidates must report at VRDE as per the schedule with a duly filled application form, self-attested copies of certificates, and original documents for verification.
