Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) under Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence has released the official notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) posts. The recruitment will be conducted through walk-in interviews at TBRL, Chandigarh.

Eligibility Criteria of DRDO TBRL JRF and RA Vacancies

Post	Educational Qualification	Age Limit
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)	BE/B.Tech in relevant discipline in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in relevant discipline in 1st Division at both Graduate and Postgraduate level. For Physics, Post Graduation in Physics in 1st Division with valid NET qualification.	Maximum 28 years on date of walk-in interview. Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Research Associate (RA)	Ph.D or equivalent degree in relevant discipline OR Post Graduation in relevant discipline with 3 years of experience in Research, Teaching or Design and Development along with at least one publication in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.	Maximum 35 years on date of walk-in interview. Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Stipend and Tenure Details of DRDO TBRL Recruitment 2026

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)	Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA as per rules	Initially for 2 years. Total tenure as JRF/SRF shall not exceed 5 years.
Research Associate (RA)	Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA as per rules	For 2 years only

Walk-in Interview Venue and Instructions

Candidates must report at Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Sector-30, Chandigarh at 0900 hrs on the respective interview date. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the interview after 1000 hrs.

Candidates must bring complete biodata along with attested copies of marks sheets, certificates from 10th onwards, caste certificate, experience certificate and one recent passport size photograph. One valid identity card in original must also be produced at the time of interview.

Candidates working in Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies should apply through proper channel. Original certificates and testimonials must be produced during the interview. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
