DRDO RAC Opens Applications For 152 Scientist/Engineer ‘B’ Posts Across Multiple Disciplines

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), has invited online applications from eligible candidates for 152 Scientist/Engineer ‘B’ vacancies. The posts are available in DRDO, ADA, and other establishments under the Ministry of Defence.

According to the official DRDO RAC Notification Advt No. 156, the vacancies are open in disciplines such as Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, and more. The upper age limit is 35 years for UR/EWS, extendable for reserved categories. The pay scale is Level-10 with basic pay of ₹56,100, and the total monthly salary is approximately ₹1,00,000.

Candidates who meet the required qualifications and possess a valid GATE 2023, 2024, or 2025 score can apply online at rac.gov.in. The revised last date to submit the application is 08 August 2025 up to 16:00 hrs. Final-year candidates can also upload their results by the same date.

Important Dates:
The registration process for DRDO Scientist/Engineer ‘B’ 2025 started on 04 July 2025. The last date to apply online is extended till 08 August 2025. Interview dates will be announced separately through email.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates interested in applying can check the eligibility criteria, age limit, application fee, and other essential details below.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have a first-class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s Degree in relevant subjects. A valid GATE score (2023, 2024, or 2025) is mandatory for all disciplines. Relevant disciplines include Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical, Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Clinical Psychology, Biostatistics, and Entomology.

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST. Divyangjan candidates get up to 10 years of age relaxation. Other age relaxations apply as per government norms.

Other Requirements: Applicants must be Indian nationals. GATE score must match the discipline applied. Some posts like Clinical Psychology require RCI registration.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the RAC official portal at rac.gov.in before 08 August 2025 (16:00 hrs).

Application Fee:
General (UR), OBC, and EWS male candidates must pay an application fee of ₹100 online. SC, ST, Divyangjan, and all female candidates are exempted from the fee.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on 80% weightage to GATE score and 20% weightage to Personal Interview. To qualify, candidates must secure at least 70% (UR) or 60% (reserved categories) marks in the interview.
