DRDO DMRL ITI Apprentice Notification For 80 Vacancies

Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has released a notification for engagement of ITI Apprentices for the 2025-26 session. A total of 80 positions are available in various trades including Welder, Turner, Machinist, Fitter, Electronics, Electrician, COPA, Carpenter, and Photographer.

As per the notification, the apprenticeship will be for a duration of one year with a monthly stipend paid according to the Apprenticeship Rules. The selection will be done on the basis of ITI marks without any written exam or interview. Candidates who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 are not eligible.

Eligible applicants can apply online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal before the last date of 30 August 2025. Only regular ITI passed candidates from NCVT/SCVT recognised institutes can apply. Details of trades, eligibility and application process are given below.

The registration process for DRDO DMRL ITI Apprentice engagement will end on 30 August 2025.
Notification date: 8 August 2025.
Training commencement date will be intimated through email to selected candidates.

Vacancy Details:
DRDO DMRL has announced a total of 80 ITI Apprentice positions. Trade-wise distribution is as follows –
Welder: 2,
Turner: 5,
Machinist: 10,
Fitter: 12,
Electronics: 6,
Electrician: 12,
Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA): 30,
Carpenter: 2,
Photographer: 1.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must hold an ITI pass certificate in the relevant trade from an NCVT/SCVT recognised institute. Only regular candidates are eligible. Those who have previously undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible. Age limit is as per Apprenticeship Rules, with relaxations applicable for SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories as per government norms.

How to Apply:
Interested and eligible candidates should register and submit their application on www.apprenticeshipindia.org. After registration, search for Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) under the “Establishment” section, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application before the closing date.

Selection Process:
Selection will be purely on the basis of merit of marks obtained in ITI. Shortlisted candidates will be notified through email. No TA/DA will be provided for any stage of the process.
