Dr Farooq, CM Omar pay tributes to Wali Muhammad Itoo on death anniversary

Srinagar, Mar 17: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday paid rich tributes to veteran leader and former Legislative Assembly Speaker, Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo, on the 32nd anniversary of his martyrdom.

Remembering the late leader as a true friend of the people, the duo praised his unwavering commitment to democracy, human dignity, and public welfare. They highlighted his selfless sacrifice and dedication to upholding high moral values, said a press release.

Acknowledging his exceptional vision, they also underscored Itoo’s pioneering contributions to rural development, particularly in South Kashmir regions such as DH Pora. They commended his tireless efforts to empower rural youth, women, and farmers, aimed at reducing poverty and driving meaningful socio-economic change in the region.

Several other prominent leaders of the National Conference, including Ali Muhammad Sagar, Nasir Aslam Wani, Shammi Oberoi, Shiwkat Mir, Tanvir Sadiq, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Mubarak Gul, Sajad Kichloo, Mushtaq Guroo, GM Mir, Showkat Ganaie, Dr Bashir Veeri, Riyaz Khan, Ab Majeed Larmi, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Mudassar Shahmiri, Salman Ali Sagar, Peerzada Faroz, Imran Nabi Dar along with other party members, also paid heartfelt tributes to Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo.
