DPS Srinagar awards Kiran Dhar Sports Scholarship to 2 student-athletes

Srinagar, Mar 17: Delhi Public School Srinagar has conferred the Kiran Dhar Sports Scholarship 2026 on two students in recognition of their outstanding achievements and consistent performance in sports.

The scholarship recipients are Tarahum Sadiya of class 11 and Mehran Zargar of class 7, both of whom have demonstrated exceptional discipline and success in their respective sports.

Tarahum Sadiya, a badminton player, recorded an unbeaten run at the district level, winning all 12 matches she played.

She has also secured three wins in four matches at the state level and has represented at the national level once. Her overall record stands at 15 victories from 16 matches.

Mehran Zargar, competing in mixed martial arts has remained undefeated in district-level competition with 10 wins from 10 matches.

He has also participated in two national-level tournaments, marking him as a promising young athlete in the discipline.

School officials said that the scholarship recognises both performance and commitment to sport, adding that the institution continues to promote excellence in athletics alongside academics.

The Kiran Dhar Sports Scholarship is awarded annually to students who demonstrate high levels of achievement and potential in sports.
