
SRINAGAR: Delhi Public School Srinagar has announced the recipients of the Kiran Dhar Sports Scholarship 2026, recognising two student-athletes for their outstanding performance and dedication in sports.
The scholarship has been awarded to Tarahum Sadiya, a Grade 11 student excelling in badminton, and Mehran Zargar, a Grade 7 student specialising in mixed martial arts.
According to the school, Tarahum Sadiya has emerged as a promising talent in the badminton circuit, earning recognition for her technical skills and composure on the court. Her competitive record includes 12 district-level matches, all of which she won, maintaining an unbeaten streak. At the state level, she secured three wins out of four matches and has also represented at the national level with one tournament appearance. Overall, she has recorded 15 victories from 16 matches.
Mehran Zargar, at the district level, has played 10 matches and remained unbeaten, winning all of them. The school stated that his performances have established him as a disciplined and competitive martial artist. He has also participated in two national-level tournaments, further strengthening his credentials.
The school administration said the scholarship aims to honour excellence in sports and encourage young athletes to pursue both academic and athletic achievements. It reiterated its commitment to fostering sporting talent alongside academic development.
The institution extended congratulations to both students and expressed hope that they would continue to excel in their respective fields.
