Doda Authorities Withdraw Restrictions in Most Areas, Continue in Two Tehsils

SRINAGAR: Authorities on Sunday withdrew restrictions imposed under Section 163 of the BNSS across most parts of Doda district after assessing that the law and order situation had improved substantially.

According to an order, normalcy has been restored in much of the district, prompting the withdrawal of restrictions that had been in place since September 9. The curbs, however, will remain in force in the territorial jurisdictions of Tehsil Kahara and Tehsil Chilly Pingal until further notice.

The restrictions were imposed to maintain law and order. Officials said the decision to ease them followed a review of reports from field functionaries and law enforcement agencies.

The order stated that restrictions in Kahara and Chilly Pingal will continue until further orders.
