Directors, Govt Employee Among Eight Booked in Fraud Cases of Rs 3 Cr

SRINAGAR: Eight persons, including directors of two private companies and a government employee, have been booked in Jammu for allegedly duping residents of more than Rs 3 crore, Crime Branch officials said on Sunday.

Officials said hat an FIR was lodged on the complaint of Guninder Jeet Singh Wazir of Trikuta Nagar against Nitin Gupta and Nidhi Gupta of Delhi and Nitin Maheshwari of Ghaziabad, directors of Shreekatyani Metal Pvt Ltd, for allegedly causing wrongful loss of Rs 2.64 crore.

In another case, Sanjeev Mahajan of Jammu complained against Nishaan Singh, proprietor of Messrs Sanbun Investments, Delhi, accusing him of criminal breach of trust involving Rs 35 lakh.

The official further said that notorious scammers Saroop Lal of Bari Brahmana and Ashish Bhandari of Jammu were booked for allegedly duping Jawahar Lal and Bibi Ram of Akhnoor of Rs 12.30 lakh on the pretext of arranging forest department jobs through fake appointment orders.

Meanwhile, an FIR was also registered against Sohan Lal of Arnia for allegedly securing a dental technician job in the health department using a fake matriculation certificate. The document was allegedly arranged by Swarn Singh of Treva village, who has also been named as an accused. (KNC)
