DIG Udhampur reviews cyber security, security preparedness in Reasi

Ramban Jan 13: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur range, Sarah Rizvi on Tuesday reviewed cyber security measures and overall security preparedness at the District Police Office in Reasi, issuing directions to ensure adherence to protocols and heightened vigilance ahead of Republic Day celebrations.

During the visit, the DIG held a detailed interaction with police officers and staff, focusing on cyber security-related issues.

DIG issued on-the-spot directions stressing strict adherence to prescribed cyber security protocols. Rizvi directed all officers to use only official email IDs on office computers and strictly avoid the use of personal email accounts for official work.

She further emphasized compliance with all cyber security guidelines while handling computers and digital systems to prevent data breaches and cyber threats.

The review meeting was attended by Additional SP Katra Vipan Chandran, Additional SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed, SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, Dy. SP Headquarters Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal, Dy. SP DAR DPL Reasi Sarbjeet Singh, Dy. SP PC Pouni Ms. Samriti Sharma, Dy. SP PC Arnas Hirdeyjeet Singh, Dy. SP PC Mahore–Chassana Azer Ali Shah, along with other senior officers.

The DIG also reviewed the prevailing security scenario in District Reasi and directed all officers to remain on high alert in view of the upcoming Republic Day–2026 celebrations. She stressed the need for intensified patrolling, area domination, and heightened vigilance to ensure peace and public safety.

Later, Rizvi visited the District Police Lines (DPL) Reasi, where she inspected the welfare centre, GO Mess, and Gymnasium.

DIG appreciated the welfare initiatives undertaken for police personnel and highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy, motivated, and efficient police force.

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of District Police Reasi towards strengthening cyber security practices, enhancing operational readiness, and ensuring robust security arrangements across the district.
