
SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary inaugurated a 45-metre span single-lane steel motorable bridge over Sadda Nallah at Mangrote, aimed at improving road connectivity and ensuring all-weather access for residents of the area.
The bridge is expected to ease transportation difficulties, improve commuter safety and strengthen connectivity in the remote region. Choudhary said the Union Territory government was committed to addressing infrastructure gaps in rural and far-flung areas to ensure balanced development.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of an inspection hut along with allied works at Sadda, Kalakote. He said the facility would enhance administrative presence and help improve monitoring and implementation of development works.
Choudhary interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances, assuring time-bound redressal of genuine demands. He said the government was following a people-centric approach with focus on grassroots-level issues.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary, MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh, DDC Member Budhal Old-A Shazia Kousar, DDC Member Moughla Shamim Akhter, senior officers and media persons.
MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary welcomed the initiative, stating that such infrastructure projects were crucial for improving the quality of life in remote areas. MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh also thanked the government for approving key development works for the constituency.
