SRINAGAR: A Delhi court on Monday remanded Yasir Ahmed Dar, an accused in the Red Fort blast case, to 11 days of judicial custody, The Economic Times reported.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna ordered that Dar be sent to judicial custody until January 16 after he was produced before the court.
The court had earlier, on December 26 last year, extended Dar’s custody with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by 10 days.
Dar, a resident of south kashmir’s Shopian district was arrested by the NIA on December 18 and is the ninth accused to be taken into custody in connection with the case.
According to the NIA, Dar, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, was a close associate of Umar-un-Nabi, the suicide bomber who allegedly drove the explosives-laden vehicle that detonated outside the Red Fort on November 10.
