Kupwara: The district administration Kupwara on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of arrangements for the upcoming Lolab Winter Festival 2026, scheduled to be held on February 15 at Kariwan Eco Park, Devar Lolab.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara and other senior officers, visited the venue to take stock of preparations and assess readiness across departments.
Officials reviewed arrangements related to security, traffic regulation, parking facilities, sanitation, cultural stages, food stalls and other public amenities. Departmental heads briefed the team on the progress of works and logistical planning to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to expedite completion of pending tasks and ensure that adequate facilities are in place for visitors. Emphasis was laid on maintaining safety standards, cleanliness and efficient coordination among departments.
The SSP reviewed the security blueprint and instructed police officials to put in place effective crowd management measures to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festival.
The Lolab Winter Festival aims to promote tourism and highlight the region’s rich cultural heritage, traditional cuisine and handicrafts. The event will feature cultural performances, recreational activities and local food stalls at Kariwan Eco Park on February 15.
Officials expressed confidence that the festival would be conducted smoothly and attract significant public participation.
