DC Rajouri reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr, Chaitra Navratri

Rajouri, Mar 14: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr and Chaitra Navratri across the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, took a comprehensive review of security arrangements and directed the concerned departments to ensure proper deployment of magistrates. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among departments to maintain law and order and facilitate smooth conduct of both festivals.

The DC also reviewed arrangements related to uninterrupted power supply, adequate drinking water supply, traffic regulation and parking of vehicles. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure effective traffic management plans to avoid congestion during peak hours.

Directions were issued to the concerned departments to conduct market checking to prevent overpricing and ensure the availability of essential commodities. The Fire and Emergency Services Department was asked to conduct fire safety audits of major institutions and commercial establishments to avoid any untoward incidents.

Special emphasis was laid on maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in towns and public places. The concerned agencies were asked to intensify sanitation drives to ensure a clean environment during the festive period.

Prominent members of civil society who participated in the meeting appreciated the efforts of the district administration for ensuring uninterrupted water and power supply during the crucial hours of Ramzan and for maintaining cleanliness in the town. They also shared their valuable suggestions regarding the arrangements.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq, ADC Chander Prakash, Additional SP Bikram Kumar SE PWD, SE PHE, Executive Engineer PDD Muneer Ahmed, Executive Engineer PHE Sudesh Kumar, AD FCS&CA Rohit Kumar, Tehsildar Varinder Gupta, DSHO, CAHO, CMO Manohar Lal Rana besides other district and sectoral officers.
