
Srinagar, Jan 14: Jehangir Ahmad, a trainee of the Khelo India Cycling Centre under the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, clinched the gold medal in the 40 km Mass Start (U-19) category at the 69th SGFI National Road Cycling Championship.
Jehangir’s performance, as per the statement by the J&K Sports Council at the national-level event, highlights the growing strength of the athlete development ecosystem being nurtured under the Khelo India programme in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council. Competing against top young cyclists, he displayed endurance, tactical awareness, and consistency to finish on top.
Officials from the J&K Sports Council lauded Jehangir’s achievement, stating that the success reflects the focused training, scientific support, and competitive exposure being provided to young athletes at Khelo India centres across the Union Territory.
