CSIR‑CSIO Chandigarh Opens 42 Scientist And Technical Assistant Posts 2025

The CSIR‑Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh has issued two separate notifications to fill 42 permanent Group A and Group B vacancies for Scientists and Technical Assistants. The online form for 17 Scientist posts is available from 11 July 2025 while the form for 25 Technical Assistant posts opens on 16 July 2025.

CSIR‑CSIO is a premier R&D institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. According to Advertisement No. 02/2025 and 03/2025, applicants must satisfy the prescribed educational qualifications and age limits, and apply only through the csio.res.in portal before the given deadlines.

Selected Scientists will be placed in Pay Level 11 with about ₹1,38,000 per month, whereas Technical Assistants will be in Pay Level 06 earning roughly ₹71,000 per month plus allowances. Key dates, vacancy breakup, age ceilings and the application method are summarised below for quick reference.

Important Dates: Notification issued on 11 July 2025 for Scientists and 16 July 2025 for Technical Assistants. Online registration starts on the same respective dates. The last date to submit the Scientist form is 11 August 2025 up to 5:00 pm, and for the Technical Assistant form it is 15 August 2025 up to 5:00 pm.

Vacancy Details: The drive aims to fill 17 Scientist posts and 25 Technical Assistant posts, making a total of 42 openings across various laboratories and specialisations.

Eligibility Criteria: For Scientists, the maximum age on the closing date is 32 years; detailed essential qualifications and discipline‑wise requirements are listed in Advertisement No. 02/2025. For Technical Assistants, the upper age limit is 28 years as on 15 August 2025, with specific technical qualifications and experience outlined in Advertisement No. 03/2025. Reservation, age relaxation and any desirable experience will follow Government of India rules as stated in the notifications.
