CRPF Srinagar Sector celebrates 87th Raising Day

Srinagar, Jul 27: The Srinagar Sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday celebrated the 87th Raising Day of the paramilitary force at the Group Centre, CRPF, in Srinagar.

A statement of the CRPF issued here said that the commemorative event was marked by a Sainik Sammelan and a series of celebratory activities.

Additional Director General (ADG), Jammu and Kashmir Zone CRPF, Rajesh Kumar, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The event was also attended by Inspector General (IG), Srinagar Sector, Pawan Kumar Sharma and IG KOS, Vineet Brij Lal.

In recognition of exemplary service and operational excellence, 22 officers and personnel were awarded the Director General’s Disc and Commendation Certificates.

Addressing the gathering, ADG Rajesh Kumar lauded the force’s glorious legacy, recalling its pivotal role in counter-insurgency operations across Punjab, Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas, the North-East, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting a shining chapter of the CRPF, Kumar paid homage to the valiant fight at Sardar Post during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

As part of the celebrations, sports activities were conducted to enhance camaraderie and morale among the troops.

The event concluded with a traditional ‘Bara Khana’, fostering a sense of unity and collective pride among personnel.
