Srinagar, July 01: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a charge-sheet in a case involving the alleged use of a forged educational certificate by a government employee in Anantnag. The charge-report pertains to FIR No. 06/2025, registered under Sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) at the Police Station Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar.

According to a press release issued to Greater Kashmir, the charge-sheet has been submitted before the Hon’ble Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag against Bilal Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Rehman Naikoo, a resident of Bidder, Kokernag in Anantnag district. The accused, employed as an MTS Watcher in the Forest Division Anantnag (Range Kokernag), is alleged to have fraudulently entered a fake middle pass qualification certificate into his service records.

According to the Crime Branch, the case originated from a complaint received at the Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar, alleging that Naikoo had managed to incorporate a forged certificate in official records. Preliminary inquiry revealed that the certificate in question was indeed fake and forged, prompting registration of a formal case under cognizable offences.

Following a thorough investigation conducted under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, the allegations were found to be substantiated. The investigation was concluded within the stipulated 60-day period, culminating in the filing of the charge-report for judicial determination.

The case is now under consideration of the Hon’ble Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag.
