SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a charge-sheet before the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag in a case involving the alleged submission of a fake educational qualification certificate by a government employee.
The charge-report has been submitted in connection with FIR No. 06/2025 under Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) against Bilal Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Rehman Naikoo, resident of Bidder, Kokernag in Anantnag district.
Naikoo, serving as a Multi-Tasking Staff (Watcher) in the Forest Division Anantnag, Range Kokernag, is accused of fraudulently inserting a fake middle pass qualification certificate into his official service records.
The investigation was launched following a complaint received by the EOW Srinagar, alleging that the certificate submitted by the accused was forged and fabricated. The complaint led to the registration of the case at the Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar under cognisable charges.
The press note further stated that the investigation has concluded the offence as proved, establishing that Naikoo knowingly used a fake document to secure or continue his government employment.
Significantly, the probe was conducted under the newly enacted Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and the charge-sheet was finalised and filed within the mandated 60-day period.
The case now awaits judicial scrutiny at the Hon’ble Court of the Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag.
