
SRINAGAR: A delegation from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) on Thursday presented a cheque of over Rs 11 lakh to the Chief Minister towards the Flood Relief Fund. The contribution, raised by the university’s faculty and staff, was lauded by the Chief Minister, who commended their compassion and spirit of solidarity.
During the day, the Chief Minister also met several delegations representing education, religious, and community institutions, as well as public representatives.
Raj Kumar Choudhary, Chairperson of the JK Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission, called on the Chief Minister to discuss key issues concerning the power sector.
A delegation from IDPS Ghou Manhasan, comprising students and staff, met the Chief Minister to deliberate on bridging the rural–urban education divide and nurturing responsible future leaders. On the occasion, the Chief Minister released the school’s newsletter and urged students to pursue excellence with commitment and integrity.
Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director of IGNOU Jammu, briefed the Chief Minister on the University’s ongoing disaster management programmes, underscoring their importance in current circumstances.
A delegation from Markazi Jama Masjid, Talab Khatikan, Jammu, led by Shahi Imam Mufti Anayatullah, discussed issues related to the Jama Masjid and the local Madrassa.
Among others, DDC Member Dansal Shameem Begum, MLA Bani Dr. Rameshwar Singh, and Jammu Province JKNC President Rattan Lal Gupta also called on the Chief Minister to raise developmental and people-centric concerns in their respective constituencies.
The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured that their genuine demands and issues would be examined and addressed appropriately by the government.
