
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday reviewed the status of government properties managed by the Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission in the national capital and directed officials to ensure that facilities for officers, students, patients and other visitors from the Union Territory are improved at the earliest.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also discussed the allotment of construction and renovation works to agencies such as the National Buildings Construction Corporation and the Central Public Works Department to ensure the efficient execution of development projects.
Earlier, Resident Commissioner Ramesh Kumar gave a detailed presentation on the condition and utilisation of various government properties under the commission’s management, including offices, staff quarters, guest houses and VIP accommodation facilities in New Delhi.
Officials informed the meeting about several development proposals, including the upgradation of VIP rooms into suites at the JK House complex in Chanakyapuri, redevelopment of the Rajaji Marg property in New Delhi, and the extension of guest house facilities at 5, Prithviraj Road.
The meeting also reviewed the status of other properties under the Resident Commission in cities including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Malabar Hill and Sirsa.
