SRINAGAR: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on Saturday laid a wreath and paid solemn tribute to soldiers were slain in the line of duty during a gunfight with militants in Akhal area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Expressing deep sorrow and gratitude, the Chief Minister said the sacrifices of these valiant soldiers would forever be etched in the nation’s memory. He reaffirmed his government’s unwavering support for the armed forces and their families.
At least two Indian army personnel were killed in overnight firing as the gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district entered the ninth day on Saturday – one of the longest anti-militancy operations in the valley.
