Srinagar: The Tribal Students Association Kashmir (TSAK) on Saturday announced its new governing body following its annual review meeting held at Rajbagh here.

Choudhary Shaheen Bajad was elected as the President of the association. Widely regarded as a strong and articulate voice of the tribal community, Bajad has consistently raised issues related to the rights, dignity and future of tribal students, and his election is being seen as a step towards strengthening advocacy for educational and social empowerment.

As part of the newly constituted body, Chaudhary Zubair was elected as Vice President, while Chaudhary Nasir Hussain Baba was chosen as General Secretary.

In a statement issued after the elections, the association said the new leadership would work collectively to address the primary issues faced by tribal students and youth. It added that TSAK would also intensify its efforts to highlight and resolve broader concerns of the tribal community in Kashmir.

Members and supporters of the association described the leadership change as significant, expressing confidence that under Bajad’s stewardship, TSAK would emerge as a more united and effective platform for the welfare, justice and progress of tribal students and the community at large.
