
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh for the release of Rs 111.66 crore as the central share for implementing an approved fisheries development project in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X, Sinha said the financial support would help strengthen the fisheries sector and improve the livelihoods of fish farmers in the Union Territory.
He further stated that during the current financial year, the Ministry has released an initial sanction of Rs 10 crore, adding that the Government of India has assured additional funds upon utilisation of the allocated amount.
The Lieutenant Governor noted that the Centre remains committed to enhancing the welfare of fish farmers and boosting the fisheries sector in Jammu and Kashmir through sustained financial and policy support.
