SRINAGAR: The Government of India has approved the grant of Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG) to six officers of the Indian Information Service (IIS) Group ‘A’, including Tariq Ahmed Rather, with effect from January 1, 2026.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the officers have been placed in the Junior Administrative Grade (Non-Functional Selection Grade) under Level 13 of the 7th Pay Matrix.

The officers granted NFSG are Ashutosh Mohle, currently posted at the Press Registrar General of India (PRGI), New Delhi; Ajay Joy of Doordarshan Kendra, Thiruvananthapuram; Joyce Philip, serving as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Mahar Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs on central deputation; Anubhav Singh, OSD in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; and Tariq Ahmed Rather, presently posted at the Regional News Unit of All India Radio, Srinagar.
