Central University of Jammu enters in MoU with Tribhuvan University, Nepal

Jammu, 10 March 2026: Central University of Jammu today signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tribhuvan University, Nepal. The MoU signing ceremony took place virtually in the presence of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu and Prof. Deepak Aryal, Vice-Chancellor, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. The primary goal of this MoU is to establish a framework for academic and research collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Prof. Jain welcomed this important milestone and emphasized upon the importance of inter-institutional synergy at an international level for a long term meaningful collaboration that will benefit students as well as faculty of both institutions.

Prof. Deepak Aryal shared that Tribhuvan University was established in 1959 as the first university of Nepal with the aims of propagating and creating knowledge. It offers a wide range of programmes and this collaboration with CU Jammu will certainly help in achieving new heights in academic endeavours as well as research excellence particularly in the field of Atmospheric Science and Climate Change.

Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey, Executive Director, Centre for International Affairs, Tribhuvan University, Nepal shared that the objective of this MoU is to develop and expand cooperation between both universities for fostering, advancing and enhancing academics, research, capacity building and other related areas across various disciplines.

Dr. Shweta Yadav, Associate Dean, International Affairs, Central University of Jammu said that the partnership between these two universities is crucial for addressing the challenges specific to the Himalayan region under changing climate regime and the journey of this partnership will start with planned collaborative research in the field of Himalayan Climate.

Prof. Suram Singh, Dean Academics, Central University of Jammu highlighted the importance of academic exchange and said that this MoU will facilitate student mobility, exchange of expertise and teaching methodologies through joint academic programs between the two prestigious institutions.

While presenting a formal vote of thanks, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CU Jammu stated that this partnership will be vital in fostering international academic cooperation and enhancing research capabilities with global learning opportunities.
