Centenarian, Former MLC Ghulam Mohammad Lone Passes Away | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Ghulam Mohammad Lone, father of senior PDP leader and former minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, passed away peacefully at his residence in Hanjura, Budgam, at the age of 100.

Lone, who had served as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), was a longstanding figure in public life, contributing actively to political and social affairs in the region for several decades.

The Namaz-i-Janzah of the deceased will be offered at 10:00 am on Wednesday at their ancestral graveyard in Hanjura, Budgam.

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and party members expressed deep sorrow over his demise. In a statement, Mufti extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to endure this profound loss.

Ghulam Mohammad Lone’s passing marks the end of a remarkable life devoted to public service and community engagement in Jammu and Kashmir.
