SRINAGAR: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released tentative date sheets for the Class X and XII board examinations, scheduled to be held from February 17 to July 15, 2026.
According to the circular issued by CBSE, the board will conduct main examinations for Classes X and XII, exams for sports students in Class XII, second board examinations for Class X, and supplementary examinations for Class XII during the period.
Around 45 lakh candidates are expected to appear across 204 subjects in Classes X and XII from India and 26 other countries. The board said that alongside the main examinations, practicals, evaluation, and post-result processes will be conducted to ensure timely declaration of results.
The tentative date sheets include Class X and XII main examinations and the second board examinations for Class X. CBSE stated that the move will help students prepare structured study plans, enable schools to align their academic and administrative responsibilities, and allow teachers to plan their schedules more effectively.
As per guidelines, evaluation of answer scripts will begin about 10 days after each subject’s examination and conclude within 12 days.
The board clarified that these schedules are tentative, with final date sheets to be issued after schools submit the final list of candidates.
