CBK Files Chargesheet in Fraudulent Appointment and Salary Drawal Case

SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EEW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in FIR No. 95/2022 before the Sub Judge Court, Chadoora, against three accused, including retired Headmaster Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Gazi, Mubeena Kawsar, and Ifra Nissar, in connection with fraudulent appointments and salary drawal, officials said.

The case was initiated following a communication from the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, which highlighted irregularities in appointments and manipulation of service records under SRO-43. A formal case was subsequently registered at the Police Station Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Kashmir.

Investigations revealed that the original appointee, Ifra Nissar, had resigned from government service, but the then Drawing and Disbursing Officer allegedly concealed her resignation and fraudulently substituted another individual, continuing to draw salary against the post.

Documentary and oral evidence collected during the investigation reportedly substantiated the allegations, confirming a criminal conspiracy and misappropriation of government funds. The offences are registered under Sections 419, 420, 409, 468, 471 read with 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code.

The Crime Branch Kashmir said it remains committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, and integrity within public institutions and upholding the rule of law by prosecuting those involved in economic offences and corruption.
